Its A Fine Life Carrying The Banner! This movie is about the newsboys making a living selling papers (or as i like to say
papes) on the streets of New York in 1899. They work for Pulitzer's paper The New York World. But when Joe becomes desperate
to beat his rival Hearst he raises the paper price for the newsies, and that is crossing the line. The newsies look to their
leader Jack Kelly to figure out what to do. Thats when the strike begins.
This disney musical of 1992 is one of my all time favorite movies. Songs from Alan Menken who composed music from The
Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, and Pocahontas. Directed by Kenny Ortega who directed both High School Musical 1 and
2. Starring Christen Bale of the Batman Begins movies too. With a cast like this it has to be good!

Jack Kelly
Also known as "Cowboy" around his friends, Jack Kelly is a troubled Newsie who finds himself to be leading the strike.
But at the same time he has his own dreams of escaping to Santa Fe where he can live for himself.
David
David becomes a Newsie when he is forced to work for his family when his family gets injured. He and his younger brother Les
make a partnership with Jack so they can learn the rules of the Paper Business. He also becomes Jack's right hand man when
the strike starts and puts his brain to work.
